Just Intensive Terms & Conditions
You – The student or person with authority to speak on their behalf.
Us / We – Just Intensive
- You must be of legal age to drive and produce a valid UK/Northern Ireland provisional Category B driving licence. The photo card provisional driving licence must be produced at the start of the first lesson. You must declare to the instructor your past driving history, including any points or convictions currently on your licence. Failure to do this, or refusal to disclose, and the lesson will be terminated, and the lesson will be chargeable.
For Pass Plus or Refresher lessons a full valid licence must be produced with identification as above. - You must meet the minimum eye test requirements, which means you must be able to read a standard UK approved number plate at a minimum distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet). If you need to wear glasses or contact lenses in order to meet this requirement then you must wear them whenever you drive.
- You must notify your instructor of any change of your ability or entitlement to have driving tuition, for example if your provisional licence has been revoked or for medical reasons such as epilepsy.
- A deposit payment will be made to us upon booking to secure your course and for us to find you an appropriate instructor and make the arrangements for you. A secondary Deposit (within the cost of your course, not in addition) may be required by your allocated instructor, once your course has been finalised, but this will vary between instructors and will likely depend on how far in advance you are booking. This will not change the cost of your course, and will be discussed with your allocated instructor.
- Your deposit to us is non-refundable unless, due to circumstances within our control, we cannot allocate an instructor for your course within 14 days of paying your deposit. If you are unhappy with your instructor, after beginning your course, please follow their complaints procedure and report your experience to a Just Intensive representative, and if necessary, to the DVSA. However, as we are referring you to a reputable instructor (currently on the ADI register – see Section 6) we cannot retain any liability for their misconduct, or any dispute between you and them – unless this is based on something stated in section 6. On a case-by-case basis, we may find you a new instructor, without an additional deposit being required. Recovering any money paid for your course, excluding any deposit paid to us, will be solely between you and your allocated instructor as we will hold no authority over them and cannot force them to provide a refund, if required.
- We will take on the responsibility of finding a reputable and fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor, currently on the Approved Driving Instructors Register. This confirms that they’re fully DBS checked and abide by the ADI Code Of Practice.
Once an independent instructor has been allocated and contact made, between student and instructor, you and your instructor will receive your test booking confirmation via email and will make any and all further arrangements, becoming your single point of contact for the remainder of your course. - Your instructor will endeavour to arrive on time however, due to unforeseen circumstances such as breakdown, accidents, traffic hold ups etc, lesson times may need to change or even be cancelled. Separate terms and conditions may be applied by your allocated instructor regarding cancellation of lessons and other aspects of their business, which will need to be discussed with the instructor upon first contact.
- The specific format for any course shown on the Just Intensive website is for illustration purposes only, as you are paying for the number of hours shown, not necessarily to take the course for a set number of days. The duration of each session may vary, usually they will be between 3 and 6 hours per day, spread out over a timeframe which suits you and your allocated instructor. Most instructors will usually set aside 1 or 2 hours for your test and pre-test preparation. The exact format can be discussed with your instructor and if, in the unlikely event a suitable arrangement cannot be made between you and them, we will find another instructor who can meet your specific requirements.
- You must not be under the influence of drugs/alcohol during the training. In the event of there being any signs of drugs/alcohol misuse, your instructor will withhold the use of the training vehicle for use of tuition or driving test until you are in a legal and fit state to drive. Any prescribed medication that may affect your driving should be declared to the instructor and to the DVLA medical board.
- When booking any course, a recommendation would be made based on your experience and taking into account your own perception of your confidence with regard to driving, when deciding upon which course would best suit your needs. This means that the number of hours you book, and the number of hours you require to take your test, may vary and you could require more hours in order to reach the required standard for the driving test. Further hours can be booked and paid for through your allocated instructor and require no contact with Just Intensive.
- Should you fail to reach a satisfactory standard of driving and are likely to be a danger to other road users, the ADI has a responsibility to the DSA examiners not to allow the use of the training vehicle for the purpose of the driving test. This is in the interest of the pupil, the examiner and other road users and is a precautionary safety measure. Driving Standards Agency guidelines do not allow for a pupil to take a practical test just for the experience.
In this instance a test would be rearranged so that suitable training can be undertaken to bring you to the required standard. - No responsibility can be taken for tests cancelled by the DVSA for whatever reason. Lessons will have to be paid for but can be claimed back from the DVSA. If you are in an unfit condition through substance or alcohol abuse as described above, your instructor has the right to refuse use of their vehicle and has no responsibility to refund any money paid for use of the vehicle for the test. The instructor cannot be responsible if you fail because of the eyesight test. Your instructor will be responsible if the test is cancelled due to the condition of the tuition vehicle.
